This paper studies the characteristics of three histories of the Society of Jesus elaborated during the crisis times for the Order. The histories of Francisco Xavier Alegre, Jose Mariano Dávila y Arrillaga and Gerard Decorme are studied with the purpose of knowing the form they constructed the historical memory of the Society in Mexico, during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The work centers on verifying the image elaborated by its members and which were the Jesuits historiographical premises. It studies the Jesuit historical texts as a product of a writing practice according to a production context.
Este trabajo estudia las características de tres historias de la Compañía de Jesús elaboradas en tiempos de crisis para la Orden. Las historias de Francisco Xavier Alegre, José Mariano Dávila y Arrillaga y Gerard Decorme se estudian con la finalidad de conocer la forma como se construyó la memoria histórica de la Compañía en México en los siglos XVIII y XIX. El estudio se centra en averiguar qué imagen de sí mismos elaboraron los ignacianos y cuáles fueron sus premisas historiográficas. Se estudia a los textos históricos jesuitas como producto de una práctica de escritura de la historia específica y según su contexto de elaboración.
