This dissertation discuss research on the field of study of the Michoacan migration, from a historiographical perspective. The working hypothesis states that during the second half of the twentieth century in our country, with strong interactions and relations with the United States in particular, but without forgetting researchers from Europe, has been building a field of study that encompasses intellectual output of academics and intellectuals who have contributed in many ways. The intellectual thought is a cultural product, so part of the work of the various academic disciplines. In this research come into play several methodological and conceptual tools to study the course of the vast literature on Michoacan migration and their interactions and links with Mexican and internationa migration.
La presente tesis de doctorado plantea investigar el campo de estudio de la migración michoacana, desde una perspectiva historiográfica. La hipótesis de trabajo señala que durante la segunda mitad del siglo XX en nuestro país, con fuertes interacciones y relaciones con Estados Unidos, en particular, pero sin obviar a los investigadores originarios de Europa, se ha ido construyendo un campo de estudio que engloba la producción intelectual de los académicos e intelectuales al que han contribuido de múltiples maneras. La producción intelectual es un producto cultural, por lo que forma parte del quehacer de las diferentes disciplinas y académicos. En esta investigación se ponen en juego diversas herramientas metodológicas y conceptuales para estudiar el derrotero de la vasta bibliografía sobre el fenómeno migratorio michoacano y sus interacciones y vínculos con el mexicano e internacional.
