This work describes the preparation of p-menthenes (3-7) from the acid hydrolysis of the methanolic extract from the aerial parts of Ageratina glabrata, which their carbonated derivatives (15-27) were experimentally evaluated to determine their Vibrational Circular Dichroism (VCD) behavior. The experimental and calculated VCD spectra result in a bisected signal between 1200-1300 cm-1 attributed to the C–O stretching vibrations which are attributed to exciton chirality phenomenon in the compounds (15, 21 and 23).
En el presente trabajo se describe la obtención de p- mentenos (3-7) a partir de la hidrólisis ácida del extracto metanólico de la parte aérea de Ageratina glabrata, de los cuales se realizaron sus derivados carbonatados (15-27) para determinar su comportamiento por Dicroísmo Circular Vibracional (DCV). Los espectros de DCV experimentales y calculados arrojan como resultado una señal bisectada entre 1200-1300 cm-1 atribuida a las vibraciones de estiramiento C–O las cuales son atribuidas al fenómeno de la quiralidad del excitón en los compuestos (15, 21 y 23).
