This work examines, at first, the space of Zacatula, its territory and its people, as intelligible elements, that explain some of the motivations in the insurgent leaders to insurrection the South. In that sense, the space worked perfectly for the military operation, since its orography, like its rivers, etc., prevented the sudden invasions by the realistic army. In this situation, with all the space that covered the Balsas river, the real odyssey that Morelos faced was to centralize the territory, that is, the peoples would accept the insurgent institutions. To do this, the priest of Caracuaro used commissions assigned to pass to all the towns of the new Province of Técpan for them to swear allegiance to the Supreme Board. It is timely to say that Técpan is a condition of possibility, not only in the military advance, also in the continuity of political ideas, which materialized in the Congress of Chilpancingo.
Este trabajo examina, en un primer momento, al espacio de Zacatula, su territorio y su gente, como elementos inteligibles, que explican algunas de las motivaciones en los líderes insurgentes para insurreccionar el Sur. En ese sentido, el espacio funcionó perfectamente para la operatividad militar, ya que su orografía, como sus ríos, etc., impidieron las invasiones repentinas por parte del ejército realista. En esa tesitura, con todo un espacio que abarcó hasta el rio Balsas, la verdadera odisea que Morelos enfrentó, fue centralizar al territorio, o sea que los pueblos aceptaran a las instituciones insurgentes. Para ello, el cura de Caracuaro se valió de asignar comisiones para que pasasen a todos los pueblos de la nueva Provincia de Técpan para que éstos juraran lealtad a la Suprema Junta. Es oportuno decir, que Técpan es condición de posibilidad, no sólo en el avance militar, sino en la continuidad de las ideas políticas, que concretizaron en el Congreso de Chilpancingo.
