Pensar el pasado y crear memoria. Una historia sociocultural del grupo nuevo cine de México (1961-1962)

Abstract

This research project seeks to study cinema as a cinematographic materialization of memory, based on the recognition of affective communities and their ways of thinking-capturing-transforming-feeling time and their experiences lived in the past. Through the case study of the New Cinema Group that existed in Mexico during 1961 and 1962, the idea of cinema as memory is studied, when approaching its members, its cinematographic evolution, its links with similar world groups and above all, the film On the empty balcony, made by some of its members and which touches on the subject of Spanish Exile and the emotional and affective experience that comes with thinking about the past. From a historical, sociocultural and transdisciplinary approach, the research proposal presented here is based on the affective, political and binding assessment of cinema and the subjects involved in its realization, with the intention of giving meaning to their present, through the imprints of their past, which are generated in concrete communities and social groups immersed in these interconnection dynamics that promote the consolidation of intersubjectivities and cultural artistic manifestations such as cinema.

Este proyecto de investigación busca estudiar el cine como materialización cinematográfica de la memoria, a partir del reconocimiento de las comunidades afectivas y sus formas de pensar-capturar-transformar-sentir el tiempo y sus experiencias vividas en el pasado. Mediante el estudio de caso del Grupo Nuevo Cine que existió en México durante 1961 y 1962, se estudia la idea del cine como memoria, al acercarse a sus integrantes, su devenir cinematográfico, sus vinculaciones con agrupaciones mundiales similares y sobre todo, al filme En el balcón vacío, que realizaron algunos de sus integrantes y que toca el tema del Exilio Español y la experiencia emocional y afectiva que conlleva pensar el pasado. Desde un enfoque histórico, sociocultural y transdisciplinario, la propuesta de investigación aquí presente se sustenta en la valoración afectiva, política y vinculativa del cine y de los sujetos que participan en su realización, con la intención de dar sentido a su presente, a través de la improntas de su pasado, que son generadas en comunidades y grupos sociales concretos inmersos en dichas dinámicas de interconexiones que promueven la consolidación de intersubjetividades y manifestaciones artísticas culturales como el cine.
