Estrategias turísticas para incrementar los flujos de turistas chinos hacia México

Abstract

Tourism is an activity of great importance since it contributes to the generation of wealth and employment and, it has an effect on the development of infrastructures and public services. Mexico is a country that has a great mix of tourist products and services, which favors that the tourism offer focus on the satisfaction of the needs and preferences of the different segments of international tourists who arrive to Mexico: sun and beach tourism, cultural tourism, business, etc. The rapid expansion and facilities that the Chinese government has granted to its inhabitants to travel abroad has brought benefits to the economies of the countries where these tourists travel. Due to the great economic spill that these tourists make in their travels and the great potential they possess, they become one of the most attractive segments in the world, causing countries to seek to attract them for the profits. Although Mexico has a great tourist attraction, it hasn’t managed to increase the number of Chinese tourists visiting the country. Therefore, this thesis is related to the increase the number of visitors to Mexico and its destinations, knowing their perceptions through a Likert scale and analyzing the variables that have a high influence for the attraction of these tourists. In addition, a Logit model has been registered to know what is the probability that the Chinese tourist will choose Mexico and its destinations over other destinations.

El turismo es una actividad de gran importancia ya que contribuye a la generación de riqueza y empleo y, además, tiene un efecto en el desarrollo de infraestructuras y servicios públicos. México es un país que cuenta con una gran mezcla de productos y servicios turísticos lo que favorece que la oferta turística se enfoque en la satisfacción de las necesidades y preferencias de los diferentes segmentos de turistas internacionales que llegan a México: turismo de sol y playa, cultural, de negocios, etc. La rápida expansión y las facilidades que el gobierno chino ha otorgado a sus habitantes para viajar al extranjero han traído beneficios a las economías de los países a los que viajan estos turistas, debido a la gran derrama económica que realizan en sus viajes y al gran potencial que poseen; por lo tanto, se convierten en uno de los segmentos más atractivos del mundo, provocando que los países busquen la forma para atraerlos. A pesar de que México cuenta con un gran atractivo turístico, no ha logrado incrementar en gran medida el número de turistas chinos que visitan el país. Por lo tanto, esta tesis determinará la manera de incrementar el número de éstos turistas hacia México y sus destinos, conociendo sus percepciones a través de una escala Likert y analizando las variables que tienen una alta influencia para la atracción de estos turistas. Además se realizará un modelo Logit para conocer cuál será la probabilidad de que el turista chino elija México y sus destinos sobre otros destinos.
