In this thesis the thermoelectric modeling of a solar panel is developed, in which its thermal and electric physical structure is detailed. The physical conditions of the solar cells that make up the panel are used to formulate its model, and then together to formulate the entire panel. The differential equations of a solar cell are presented, and simulated through its representation in block diagrams. Once the model has been proposed, several simulation tests are carried out in Matlab®, in order to show their behavior. The system is simulated considering a constant irradiation and temperature, first, and after, an irradiation and variable temperature are considered. The results of the simulation of the cell and solar panel are presented and compared with the graphs provided by a solar panel manufacturer. Additionally, the shadow effect on a solar cell is exposed by means of a simulation. Once the simulation and verification of the proposed model has been carried out, the concept of systems inversion is applied, in order to develop an inverse diffuse IP control. This control is applied to the direct current to direct current converter, in order to control the output voltage, and thus have the complete structure of the solar panel. For the proposed control law, the fact of applying the integral action first (I) and then the proportional one (P), allows to reduce the over shoot in the transitory behavior of the system, in comparison with a PI control (proportional action first and then the integral). To develop and implement the proposed control law, Matlab®, tool boxes are used. The simulation and control results verify the correct functioning of the complete structure of the solar panel system.
