Los sentidos subjetivos que otorga un grupo de adolescentes morelianos a las publicaciones del Facebook

Abstract

Digital culture shows itself up through the expansion of technological changes that have an effect on the social interaction on the facebook profile of a teenagers group, and on their daily lives. The current research has as objective to decipher the senses and meanings that take place in the new socializing, consuming and producing ways through the virtual world. Thereby, this paper sustains that the identity construction processes are embodied in the new ways of learning, expressing, and going through the cyberspace. In order to analyze this problem, it has been used, during the process, a qualitative method. In this way, in a first place, a questionary to identify the facebook using and consumption frequency were applied, also several cyberethnographic observations to six teenagers were applied. These teenagers had been questioned before through semistructured and virtual interviews. Finally, the results show up that in this stage of the development is characterized by the importance of belonging to a pair group search, which turns into a strong link among the teenager's identity construction. Also, it was found that, besides satisfying their affective needs through facebook, there is the certain need for reaching popularity or acceptation, which are elements that feed up the group or individual identity construction. As of this experience and the conceptual analysis of the involved actors, such as the parents, we recommended the use of the security tools that facebook offers to keep their information private, and the use of several websites to take care and protect their social media profiles . Personal data protection it's an important part of intellectual autonomy and independence to interact in the cyberspace with a social responsibility sense.

La cultura digital se manifiesta a través de la expansión de cambios tecnológicos que inciden tanto en la interacción en la red social Facebook de un grupo de adolescentes como en la vida cotidiana de estos. La presente investigación tiene como objetivo descifrar los sentidos y significados que convergen en los nuevos modos de socializar, consumir y producir dentro del mundo virtual. Así, se argumenta que los procesos identitarios se plasman en nuevas formas de aprender, expresarse y conducirse por el ciberespacio. Para analizar esa problemática, en el diseño del estudio se empleó el método cualitativo. De tal manera que, en primer lugar, se aplicó un cuestionario para identificar la frecuencia del uso y consumo de la plataforma Facebook, también se realizaron observaciones ciber-etnográficas con seis adolescentes, a los cuales se les aplicaron entrevistas semiestructuradas y entrevistas virtuales. Finalmente, los resultados muestran que esta etapa de desarrollo se caracteriza por la importancia de la búsqueda pertenencia a su grupo de pares, el cual se convierte en un fuerte vinculo en la construcción identitaria de los adolescentes. Además de satisfacer sus necesidades afectivas a través del Facebook, se encontró cierta tendencia por alcanzar popularidad o aceptación, los cuales son elementos que nutren la configuración de su identidad grupal e individual. A partir de esa experiencia, y del análisis conceptual de los actores involucrados, como los padres de familia, las recomendaciones que se otorgaron fueron el uso de las herramientas de seguridad que ofrece Facebook para mantener en forma privada su información, además de proporcionar diversas páginas a las cuales recurrir para el cuidado y protección de sus perfiles. La protección de los datos individuales forma parte de la autonomía e independencia intelectual para interactuar en el ciberespacio con un sentido de responsabilidad social.
