Promoción de actitudes igualitarias en niños y niñas mediante el uso del cuento

Abstract

The children's story is a short story that contains imaginary facts and fulfills different functions, from the development of imagination, intelligence, the identification of feelings and emotions, and even the understanding of the material and social reality that surrounds the infant. The objectives of this research focused on the description of three attitudes related to gender: family co-responsibility, freedom of decision and exercise of violence in children. As well as analyzing the utility of the tale as a psychopedagogical tool as a promoter of equiltarian attitudes in its cognitive, affective and behavioral components, through the design and application of an intervention program that uses as a main tool the tale, applied to 4 groups of boys and girls from School age with a total of 98 participants (51 women and 47 men) whose average age was 10.3 years, with a standard deviation of 1.119 and a range of 7 to 12 years. The research was composed of three main phases, the first aimed at designing and validating two measurement instruments, one of equiltarian attitudes and another of perception of gender roles which obtained a coefficient of Cronbach alpha α = .862 and α = .804 respectively, as well as an internal reliability coefficient using the halves method of .780 and .753 respectively. The second phase was based on the creation and validation of the intervention program that used the children's tale as its main tool and aimed at promoting equiltarian gender attitudes among the participants regarding family co-responsibility, freedom of decision and no justification of the violence, which resulted in a workshop of 10 sessions lasting 1 hour per session, for boys and girls of school age.

El cuento infantil es una narración corta que contiene hechos imaginarios y cumple distintas funciones, desde el desarrollo de la imaginación, la inteligencia, la identificación de sentimientos y emociones, y hasta la comprensión de la realidad material y social que rodea al infante. Los objetivos de esta investigación se centraron en la descripción de tres actitudes relacionadas a la igualdad de género: corresponsabilidad familiar, libertad de decisión y ejercicio de violencia, en población infantil. Así como analizar la utilidad del cuento como herramienta psicopedagógica como promotor de actitudes igualitarias en sus componentes cognitivo, afectivo y conductual mediante el diseño y aplicación de un programa de intervención que usa como principal herramienta al cuento, aplicado a cuatro grupos de niños y niñas de edad escolar con un total de 98 participantes (51 mujeres y 47 hombres) cuya edad media fue de 10.3 años, con una desviación estándar de 1.119 y un rango de 7 a 12 años. La investigación se compuso de tres fases principales, la primera tuvo como objetivo diseñar y validar dos instrumentos de medición, uno de actitudes igualitarias y otro de percepción de roles de género los cuales obtuvieron un coeficiente de alfa de Cronbach α = .862 y α=.804 respectivamente, así como un coeficiente de fiabilidad interna mediante el método de mitades de .780 y .753 respectivamente. La segunda fase se basó en la creación y validación del programa de intervención que utilizara como herramienta principal el cuento infantil y tuviera por objetivo el promover actitudes de género igualitarias en los y las participantes en torno a la corresponsabilidad familiar, la libertad de decisión y la no justificación de la violencia, que resultó en un taller de 10 sesiones con una duración de 1 hora por sesión, para niños y niñas en edad escolar.
