Due to the prevalence of high poverty rates in the State of Michoacán, the need arises to carry out an analysis of social policies in the State of Michoacán aimed at combating poverty, with the main objective of determining whether they are efficient and effective for this objective, the present investigation showed that the social policies of the Government of the State of Michoacán 2015-2021, in the period that includes 2015 to 2018, turned out to be efficient since in that period a decrease of 11.20% of the population was obtained that lived in poverty conditions and the decrease of 5.88% of the population that lived in extreme poverty, but they were not effective since there was an increase in public spending in relation to social policies of just over 4 billion of pesos.
Debido a la prevalencia de los altos índices de pobreza en el Estado de Michoacán, surge la necesidad de realizar un análisis de las políticas sociales en el Estado de Michoacán tendientes al combate a la pobreza, teniendo como principal objetivo determinar si las mismas resultan eficientes y eficaces para tal objetivo, la presente investigación demostró que las políticas sociales del Gobierno del Estado de Michoacán 2015-2021, en el periodo que comprende de 2015 a 2018 resultaron ser eficientes ya que en dicho periodo se obtuvo la disminución del 11.20% de la población que vivía en condiciones de pobreza y la disminución del 5.88% de la población que vivía en condiciones de pobreza extrema, mas no resultaron ser eficaces toda vez que hubo un aumento del gasto público en relación a las políticas sociales de poco más de 4 mil millones de pesos.
