The resistance of pathogenic microorganisms caused by the excessive and inadequate use of pesticides for commercial use, is a problem worldwide, so it has become necessary to search for new substances to control them, but also be economical and have less adverse effects on the human being and the environment. An alternative is to use the microbicidal components of plant origin, since the plants are a biofuente of biodegrabal chemical components from which it is possible to determine their mirobicidal spectrum. In the present work, the effectiveness of extracts and pure components derived from plants against bacteria, fungi and oomycetes was determined. Three endemic plants of the State of Michoacán Eupatorium arsenei (Ageratina arsenei (Rob.) King & Rob.), Eupatorium pulchellum H. B. K. (Chromolaena pulchella (H.B.K.) King & Rob.) And Eupatorium cardiophyllum B.L. were selected. Rob. (Ageratina cardiophylla (B. L. Rob.) King & H. Rob.) Which were subjected to a microbicide screening and the extracts and components that inhibited the growth of bacteria, fungi and oomycetes were identified. The results showed that the extracts of E. cardiophyllum had a greater microbicidal effect when compared with the extracts of E. arsenei and E. pulchellum, so E. cardiophyllum was selected to continue with the scrutiny. It was observed that the hexane extracts of this plant have greater activity against bacteria, fungi and oomycetes. In order to carry out a biodirected search, the hexanic flower extract was selected, from which two major components were isolated, purified and identified: catholic and labdanolic acids. From these components its microbicidal effect was determined and it was observed that they affect the growth of Gram positive bacteria, being more active the catívico acid.
