When the electrical power system (EPS) is subject to small disturbances, an imbalance occurs between the generated and demanded powers, producing a frequency deviation from its nominal value because of the change in ...

This thesis describes the practical implementation of the dynamic sensitivity theory to assess the condition of stability of an electric power system subjected to a large perturbation. A unified power system transient ...

This Thesis presents an approach to formulate a global transient stability-constrained optimal power flow algorithm that allows the computation of transiently stable optimal equilibrium points, which provide the transfer ...

Power flow analysis is an indispensable tool in planning and designing a power electric system, as well as determining the optimal operating conditions of existing systems. This research introduce a method to solve the ...

This work begins with an three-phase analysis of the models of the transmission elements of the power system, in particular the model of the transformer and the transmission line, which are used for calculate electromagnetic ...

This thesis proposes a model of power flows with primary regulation in Flexible Alternating Current Transmission System (FACTS). The developed power flow model considers the requency deviations of the system, the action ...

In this work, the mathematical formulation suitable for power flow analysis taken into account wind energy integration based on the permanent magnet synchronous generator is developed. In this context, an electric circuit ...

The recent advent of synchronized phasor measurements has allowed an electric power system (SEP) to be more readily observable. In fact, when multiple buses are observed, applications that were never before possible become ...

This thesis presents three different methodologies designed for the location of line outages through measurements obtained through phasor measurement units. Two of these three methods are reported in the literature, while ...

Static synchronous compensators (STATCOMs) and unified power flow controllers (UPFCs) are critical in modern power systems, providing power compensation, voltage regulation, and stability enhancement. Several STATCOM and ...
