HIV/AIDS infection has been regarded as a pandemic since its inception, stigmatizing groups of people in whom the first cases were found. Like any other illness it can be considered that the family can generate health, disease and patient support; However, with the new antiretroviral therapies the patient must now face their disease as chronic and not with a high mortality as previously thought; this is how the support and stigma that the patient perceives by his/her family can influence their quality of life. Objective: Evaluate the perception of stigma and family support in patients with HIV/AIDS. Materials and methods: observational study, transverse, descriptive, will be held at the General Regional Hospital No.1, by convenience sampling, using two surveys. They will be made in an interview with the patient, each one will explain how to accurately fill the survey and will be asked to sign the informed consent sheet, expressing ethical considerations for the study. Descriptive statistics and probability sampling will be used for convenience. The first survey is "Perception of the subject with HIV / AIDS stigma about it submits his family" consists of 27 reagents with factor loadings between 0.882 and 0.520 and a Cronbach's alpha of 0.9642. The second survey is "Perception of the subject with HIV / AIDS on the support provided by its family consists of 19 reactive factor weights of 0.823 and 0.418 and a Cronbach's alpha of the scale generally 0.8826.
La infección por VIH/SIDA es considerada como una pandemia desde sus inicios, ésta ha sido estigmatizada por los grupos en los cuales se encontraron los primeros casos. Como cualquier otra enfermedad se puede considerar que la familia es generadora de salud, enfermedad y de apoyo para el paciente; sin embargo, con las nuevas terapias antirretrovirales el paciente debe enfrentarse a su enfermedad como crónica y ya no con la mortalidad como se pensaba en un principio; es así como el apoyo y el estigma que el paciente percibe de su familia puede influir en su calidad de vida. Objetivo: Evaluar la percepción del estigma y el apoyo familiar en pacientes con VIH/SIDA. Material y métodos: Estudio, observacional, trasversal, descriptivo, se llevará a cabo en el Hospital General Regional No.1, a través de muestreo por conveniencia, mediante dos encuestas. Serán realizadas en entrevista con el paciente, a cada uno se le explicará la manera de llenado y se le dará a firmar la hoja de consentimiento informado, expresándoles las consideraciones éticas para realizar el estudio. La primer encuesta es “Percepción del sujeto con VIH/SIDA acerca de la estigmatización a que lo somete su familia” constituido por 27 reactivos con pesos factoriales entre 0.882 y 0.520 y un alfa de Cronbach de 0.9642. La segunda encuesta es “Percepción del sujeto con VIH/SIDA sobre el apoyo que le brinda su familia, está constituido por 19 reactivos con pesos factoriales de 0.823 y 0.418 y un alfa de Cronbach general de la escala de 0.8826.
