Specific objective: To estimate the frequency of asthma in children treated at the Children's Hospital of Morelia by age and sex. Determine the most frequent allergen in the cases studied. To determine the association of patients with asthma and allergic rhinitis. Material and methods: Descriptive cross-sectional study. It was carried out in a single hospital center in the Pediatric Allergy Service of the Children's Hospital of Morelia "Eva Sámano de Lopez Mateos", Morelia, Michoacán during the period from January 2013 to November 2017, on the skin test card holder of the Pediatric Allergology service. Results: The most prevalent allergies were to pastures (79%), followed by trees (68%) and mites (67%), sex, with predominance in males since 60% of subjects with asthma were of the male sex, and interestingly, the majority of allergies occurred more frequently in them, although only statistically significant in plants.
Estimar la frecuencia de asma en niños atendidos en el Hospital Infantil de Morelia por edad y sexo. Determinar el alérgeno mas frecuente en los casos estudiados. Determinar la asociación de pacientes con asma y rinitis alérgica. Material y métodos: Estudio transversal descriptivo. Se llevó a cabo en un solo centro hospitalario en el Servicio de Alergología Pediátrica del Hospital Infantil de Morelia "Eva Sámano de López Mateos", Morelia, Michoacán durante el período comprendido entre enero 2013 a Noviembre de 2017, sobre el tarjetero del pruebas cutáneas del servicio de Alergología Pediátrica. Resultados: Las alergias más predominantes fueron a los pastos (79%), seguida de a los árboles (68%) y a los ácaros (67%).El sexo, con predominio en varones ya que el 60% de los sujetos con asma fueron del sexo masculino, y de manera interesante, la mayoría de las alergias se presentó más frecuentemente en ellos, aunque solo resulto de forma estadísticamente significativa en las plantas.
