In the modern orthodontics, the quantitative, systematic, and objective measures based on the structures of hard or soft fabrics determined in the x-ray are used in the daily use. The precision and the reproducibility of the obtained data are important for the ortodoncista. The errors in the conventional methods show up in the acquisition, identification of structures, and during the mensuration radiographic. The computer science's progress inside the non-alone orthodontics has given place to file images in the computer, but it also facilitates the manipulation, the transmission, as well as the possibility to improve the image.
En la ortodoncia moderna, las medidas cuantitativas, sistemáticas, y objetivas basadas en las estructuras de tejidos duros o blandos determinada en las radiografía son utilizadas en el uso diario. La precisión y la reproductibilidad de los datos obtenidos son importantes para el ortodoncista. Los errores en los métodos convencionales se presentan en la adquisición, identificación de estructuras, y durante la medición radiográfica. El progreso de la informática dentro de la ortodoncia no solo ha dado lugar a archivar imágenes en la computadora, sino también facilita la manipulación, la transmisión, así como la posibilidad de mejorar la imagen.
