This research is focused on obtaining the fundamental characteristics of Residual Concrete Aggregates (RCA for its acronym in English), characteristics such as: absorption percentage, density, volumetric masses, wear of the angels, etc. The objective of carrying out this characterization is to know the permissible parameters for the use of these aggregates and to be able to establish a recommendation sheet for the use of the RCA, to establish the aforementioned, the legislature of other countries is investigated to have a broad panorama on the quality standards that they handle in their recycled aggregates and verify that the RCAs used for this work can fit within these standards. To improve the properties of the concretes made with RCA, another residue from the steel industry is added, blast furnace slag, this influences the properties due to its silica content. Concrete tests (compression, bending, indirect tension, etc.) using RCA are important because it is what decides if its implementation is suitable. In this work, data are obtained that are favorable for the implementation of RCA in new concrete with a 25% substitution of natural coarse aggregate for RCA.
Esta investigación está enfocada en la obtención de las características fundamentales de los Agregados de Residuos de Concreto (RCA por sus siglas en ingles), características como: porcentaje de absorción, densidad, masas volumétricas, desgaste de los ángeles, etc. El realizar esta caracterización tiene como objetivo conocer los parámetros permisibles para el uso de estos agregados y poder establecer una ficha de recomendaciones para el uso de los RCA, para establecer la antes dicha se investiga la legislatura de otros países para tener un panorama amplio sobre los estándares de calidad que manejan en sus agregados reciclados y comprobar que los RCA usados para este trabajo pueden encajan dentro de estas normas. Para mejorar las propiedades de los concretos elaborados con RCA se adiciona otro residuo de la industria acerera, escoria de alto horno, esta influye en las propiedades por su contenido de sílice. Las pruebas al concreto (compresión, flexión, tensión indirecta, etc) usando RCA son importantes pues es lo que decide si su implementación es conveniente. En este trabajo se obtienen datos que resultan favorable para la implementación de los RCA en concretos nuevos con una sustitución de un 25% de agregado grueso natural por RCA.
