Abstract

Since 1998, when the Mexican State decided to accept and submit to the contentious jurisdiction of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights (hereinafter the Inter-American Court or Court), it acquired a series of commitments with both Mexicans and the international community. Since from this moment any inhabitant of this country who considers that they have been violated their rights and that in the national instances has not found justice, can go before this international court to sue the Mexican State for violations of their rights. The Inter-American Court will analyze the case, receive the evidence and call the parties to argue what they consider pertinent.

A partir de 1998 cuando el Estado Mexicano decidió aceptar y someterse a la jurisdicción contenciosa de la Corte Interamericana de Derechos Humanos (en adelante Corte o Corte Interamericana), adquirió una serie de compromisos tanto con los mexicanos como con la comunidad internacional. Pues a partir de este momento cualquier habitante de este país que estime que le han sido violentados sus derechos y que en las instancias nacionales no ha encontrado justicia, puede acudir ante este tribunal internacional a demandar al Estado Mexicano por violaciones a sus derechos. La Corte Interamericana analizará el caso, recibirá las pruebas y llamará a las partes para que argumenten lo que estimen pertinente.
