In Mexico the small and medium company represents, nowadays, the center of the economic system of the country, because more of 95% of the companies are small and medium. They provide more than half of all the employs of the nation, including not commercial activities; they offer the experimental field in where new products, new ideas and new techniques are generated. Mexico signed on December 17th, 1992 a Free Trade Agreement with Canada and the United States of North America that took effect on January 1st 1994. The Free Trade Agreement means a challenge for the Mexican company and more for micro, small and medium, then with the TLC the companies are pressed to produce quality articles and by the same they look for to be competitive and to take advantage of better its technical, humans and financiers resources. Years ago the medium knowledge of the market allowed any national company to survive, actually the conditions have changed and a small mistake can generate fatal results, this forces to use new techniques and to elevate the level of enterprise management. Applying new techniques with the aim of directing the change in the organization implies to become qualified and to choose competent and motivated people in order to make them a good group, for some companies will be more difficult to adapt to the change because their structures or their members, but above of the most important thing is that the owner or leader must be convinced and before starting any change they must plan strategically their course in order to avoid the risk of an unpredictable change. Before to start any change the small and medium company must be known it selves, analyze its situation and evaluate its strong points and its weakness.
