La Empresa “AGRICOLA ALVAREZ SPR DE RL.” es una empresa que fue creada por el productor Raúl Álvarez en el año 2004, con el objeto de encaminar actividades de producción agrícola sustentable y alta rentabilidad como lo es el cultivo de zarzamora. El Fin que persigue en esta investigación es establecer un Modelo de producción de zarzamora bajo condiciones de Macro Túneles, en el Municipio de los Reyes; Michoacán, en donde se empleará mano de obra familiar y se complementara empleando jornales de la región. Con este proyecto se pretenden generarán 2739 jornales en el primer año, 3,423 el segundo y 4,450 el tercero, lo que significa que aproximadamente se estarán empleando 20, 32 y 48 jornales diarios en promedio del primer al tercer año. El período de recuperación es de 4 años. Considerando que en el municipio donde se establecerá el proyecto cuenta con los climas ideales para el cultivo. Durante la actual temporada de producción y exportación de zarzamora y otras frutillas, en la región de Los Reyes se registra un incremento en un 1 millón de cajas, al pasar de 14 a 15 millones de la zarzamora en referencia. En la zona de Los Reyes, que también comprende los municipios de Tocumbo y Peribán, los productores han aprendido a producir con calidad, con técnicas de producción y buenas prácticas agrícolas. El cultivo de la zarzamora inició en el año de 1994 con 4 o 5 plantaciones comerciales de la variedad brassos, cuya superficie no excedía las 3 hectáreas. Actualmente esta fruta abarca 4 mil 500 hectáreas, de las cuales 3 mil 750 están en la jurisdicción de Los Reyes y el resto en Tocumbo y Peribán. Estados Unidos, es su principal mercado, y el resto a Europa y Japón.
