Among the terrestrial birds, the family Psittacidae presents the biggest number of species in extinction risk in the wild mean, so much in Mexico as globally. The strong pressure that you/they suffer for the quick habitat loss for the change of floor use, and the high quantity of organisms that you/they are extracted to satisfy the market of mascots the main causes is considered. On the other hand the lack of information on its current distribution hinders the design of strategies and the taking of decisions to guarantee its conservation. In Mexican Pacific eleven species are distributed, five are considered high-priority for the conservation and three they are endemic.
Entre las aves terrestres, la familia Psittacidae presenta el mayor número de especies en riesgo de extinción en el medio silvestre, tanto en México como globalmente. La fuerte presión que sufren por la acelerada pérdida de hábitat por el cambio de uso de suelo, y la elevada cantidad de organismos que son extraídos para satisfacer el mercado de mascotas son consideradas las principales causas. Por otra parte la falta de información sobre su distribución actual dificulta el diseño de estrategias y la toma de decisiones para garantizar su conservación. En el Pacífico Mexicano se distribuyen once especies, cinco son consideradas prioritarias para la conservación y tres son endémicas.
