Oralidad, lectura y escritura: herramientas indispensables en la enseñanza y aprendizaje de la historia

Abstract

The teaching of history in primary education must be constituted in a time machine in which the student has the opportunity to travel to remote places and meet interesting characters and events of yesterday and today; it must be a set of strategies in which the imagination and inventiveness of all students are put into practice so that they create and build tools that allow them to analyze and understand historical knowledge from a different angle in which the classes are not limited to memorizing and repeating data, dates or events. The classroom, the sports court, the courtyard, the home itself are spaces in which the child is in contact with history and its history, they are places in which to learn be a fun activity so that the knowledge is dynamic and little by little it is significantly incorporated into their cultural baggage constituting a box of surprises from which they extract or introduce things depending on whether they want to look back, see their reality or venture into future scenarios. The story must be told, it must be told using all the tools and instruments that allow students to get involved and participate in their analysis and understanding in such a way that they feel that somehow how they are part of it; that if they were not at the time and in the place where it occurred, at least when understanding the motives, causes and consequences they are in a position to judge and even to take sides depending on the particular and social circumstances that motivate them.

La enseñanza de la Historia en educación primaria debe constituirse en una máquina del tiempo en la cual el alumno tiene la oportunidad de viajar a lugares remotos y conocer personajes y sucesos interesantes del ayer y del hoy; debe ser un conjunto de estrategias en la que se lleven a la práctica la imaginación e inventiva de todos los estudiantes para que creen y construyan herramientas que les permitan analizar y comprender el saber histórico desde un ángulo diferente en el que las clases no se limiten a memorizar y repetir datos, fechas o sucesos. El aula, la cancha deportiva, el patio, el domicilio mismo son espacios en los que el niño está en contacto con la historia y con su historia, son sitios en los que aprender ha de ser una actividad divertida para que el conocimiento sea dinámico y poco a poco se incorpore significativamente a su bagaje cultural constituyéndose en una caja de sorpresas de la que extraen o introducen cosas según sea que quieran volver la vista atrás, ver su realidad o aventurar escenarios venideros. La historia debe ser relatada, debe ser contada echando mano de todas las herramientas e instrumentos que permitan que los alumnos se involucren y participen de su análisis y comprensión de tal manera que sientan que de alguna manera forman parte de ella; que si no estuvieron en el momento y en el sitio en el cual ocurrió, por lo menos al entender los motivos, las causas y las consecuencias estén en posibilidad de juzgar y hasta de tomar partido dependiendo de las circunstancias particulares y sociales que los motiven.
