Diagnóstico, estado nutricional y control de pacientes con hipotiroidismo congénito del Hospital Infantil de Morelia en el período 2019-2021

Abstract

To evaluate the nutritional status, the timeliness of diagnosis and the control of patients with congenital hypothyroidism treated at the Hospital Infantil de Morelia. Material and methods: A descriptive, retrospective and risk-free study was carried out in patients under 18 years of age, diagnosed with congenital hypothyroidism in control and follow-up by outpatient consultation at the Hospital Infantil de Morelia, during the period April 2019 - November 2021. Results: A review of the records of patients under 18 years of age with a diagnosis of congenital hypothyroidism, assessed in an outpatient endocrinology clinic, was carried out from April 2019 to November 2021. A total of 62 records were reviewed during the study period, of which 15 were excluded, the study group includes 47 patients in total, 18 are male and 29 females, 7.5%, of them originating from Morelia, being the municipality with the highest incidence, we found 8 patients with diagnosis and start of treatment in the first 15 days of extrauterine life. The thyroid profile was assessed at the time of the consultation, finding 39 patients in control and 8 in lack of control, from the control group, 7 patients were underweight, 26 normal weight, 1 overweight and 5 obese, from the group of patients uncontrolled, 2 patients with low weight, 2 with normal weight, 1 with overweight and 3 with obesity were found. in the control group, 15 (38%) patients with short stature, 24 (61%) patients with normal height, 0 patients with tall stature. In the uncontrolled group, 1 patient with short stature, 6 with normal stature and 1 with tall stature were found.

Evaluar el estado nutricional, la oportunidad del diagnóstico y el control de los pacientes con hipotiroidismo congénito atendidos en el Hospital Infantil de Morelia. Material y métodos: Se realizó un estudio de descriptivo, retrospectivo y sin riesgo, en pacientes menores de 18 años de edad, con diagnóstico de hipotiroidismo congénito en control y seguimiento por consulta externa en el hospital infantil de Morelia, durante el período abril 2019 – noviembre 2021. Resultados: Se realizó revisión de expedientes de pacientes menores a 18 años con diagnóstico de hipotiroidismo congénito, valorados en consulta externa de endocrinología, de Abril 2019 a Noviembre 2021, se revisaron un total de 62 expedientes durante el periodo de estudio, de los cuales se excluyeron 15, el grupo de estudio incluye 47 pacientes en total, 18 son de sexo masculino y 29 de sexo femenino, el 7.5%, de ellos originarios de Morelia, siendo el municipio con mayor incidencia, encontramos 8 pacientes con diagnóstico e inicio de tratamiento en los primeros 15 días de vida extrauterina. Se valoró el perfil tiroideo al momento de la consulta encontrando 39 pacientes en control y 8 en descontrol, del grupo de controlados, 7 pacientes se ubican en peso bajo, 26 con peso normal, 1 con sobrepeso y 5 con obesidad, del grupo de pacientes no controlados, se encontró 2 pacientes con peso bajo, 2 con peso normal, 1 con sobrepeso y 3 con obesidad. en el grupo de los controlados, 15 (38%) pacientes con talla baja, 24 (61%) pacientes con talla normal, 0 pacientes con talla alta. En el grupo de descontrolados, se encontró 1 paciente con talla baja, 6 con talla normal y 1 con talla alta.
