The purpose of this paper is to highlight the relationship that exists between identity construction and social networks, we expose how some aspects of identity are shown in these spaces and how they may be influencing the way it is constructed currently. We maintain that social networks not only have given new ways of understanding the social dynamics, but also they have been given new ways of thinking about cultural events related to the way it is constructed and identity shown today. In each chapter a dimension to the identity and link it can have with the technology and image, particularly the photographic image is addressed; and that from this we consider an ontological perspective to explain how they may affect its construction and the way it is.
