Abstract

The most important variables to take into account in modern road engineering are the slopes of the terrain on which the road is built, the load-bearing capacity of both the ground and the surface to support the expected load, the correct estimation of the intensity of use of the road, the geological and geotechnical nature of the soil on which it will be built, as well as the composition and thickness of the paving structure.

Las variables más importantes a tener en cuenta en la ingeniería de carreteras moderna son las pendientes del terreno sobre el que se construye la carretera, la capacidad de carga tanto del suelo como del firme para soportar la carga esperada, la estimación correcta de la intensidad de uso de la carretera, la naturaleza geológica y geotécnica del suelo sobre el que va a construirse, así como la composición y espesor de la estructura de pavimentación.
