This thesis is a brief description of the construction process that was followed throughout the implementation of the second stage of the expansion of Plaza Las Americas, as well as some of the problems and / or conflicts that were presented throughout its construction, from the foundation to the completion of the new area of the shopping plaza where the anchor store had just completed Liverpool to the date on which the doors were opened to the public in general. It is for this reason that, even in the proposed second phase is the construction of new facilities Samborns store for subsequent relocation indicates, I have decided not to include it at work for being a construction carried out using the same methodology but at different times; that is, although the new store Samborns is part of the second phase of construction, completion and opening is not planned with the mall. The thesis is not to criticize or to analyze the way they carried out the construction, but simply to tell how things and considerations made by those responsible to take decisions are made, or have not been the best for resolve or to solve different situations that arose, whether planned or unplanned.
La reconstrucción y ampliación de la plaza comercial Las Américas ubicada sobre la Avenida Enrique Ramírez Miguel en la ciudad de Morelia, Mich., dio inicio desde el año 2006 después de haber reubicado la tienda Comercial Mexicana, pero por ser un plan tan ambicioso, realizar la construcción en su totalidad en una sola etapa no era la opción más viable por requerir una inversión muy grande. Es por ello que se optó por dividir el proyecto en tres etapas, donde para cada una de ellas se contempló la realización de una nueva sección de la plaza comercial con tienda ancla y locales comerciales independientes. La presente tesis es una breve descripción del proceso de construcción que se siguió a lo largo de la realización de la segunda etapa de la Ampliación de Plaza Las Américas, así como de algunos de los problemas y/o conflictos que se fueron presentando a lo largo de su construcción, desde la cimentación hasta la terminación de la nueva área de la plaza comercial donde se tenía sólo la tienda ancla de Liverpool terminada a la fecha en que se abrieron las puertas a todo el público en general. Es por esta razón que, aún cuando en el proyecto de la segunda fase se indica la construcción de las nuevas instalaciones de la tienda Samborns para su posterior reubicación, he decidido no incluirla en el trabajo por ser una construcción llevada a cabo con la misma metodología pero a diferentes tiempos; es decir, si bien la nueva tienda Samborns es parte de la segunda fase de la construcción, no se tenía planeado su terminación e inauguración junto con la plaza comercial.
