Medidas de prevención del deterioro de acervos bibliográficos

Abstract

The importance of the preservation of the bibliographic collections is that, without it, many of the material and natural assets that society currently has, would not exist in the future. Therefore, as rational beings that we are, they must include this preservation of the historical, cultural and natural heritage left to us by previous generations, thanks to the preservation, we can protect the assets of the deterioration that they suffer every day, and such Once this is one of the most important works of this concept, there are factors that, if you are not careful, would end with the bibliographic material that is currently available. Among the factors that cause the most deterioration are: The temperature, the humidity, the light (natural and artificial), the contamination and the biological agents, chemical agents, and more factors that contribute to the deterioration, for this it is said that another natural factor that affects it directly is the dust that inevitably tends to accumulate on the books, containing agents that accelerate the destruction, such as spores of fungi, microorganisms, metal particles, fats, etc. When penetrating between the leaves, it will produce abrasion in the form of spots and in the long term its destruction. Preservation and conservation means maintaining something in good physical condition, so that it can fulfill the function for which it was created. Said conservation is achieved by avoiding the deterioration or destruction of that object or by repairing it if it has suffered damages that prevent it or jeopardize compliance with said function. Therefore, the objective of this work is to recommend control and management measures for the adequate prevention of deterioration of bibliographic collections and all the documents that comprise them, identifying the agents of deterioration, disseminating preservation procedures among users and workers.

La importancia de la preservación de los acervos bibliográficos reside en que, sin ella, muchos de los bienes materiales y naturales con los que cuenta la sociedad actualmente, no existiría en el futuro. Por lo tanto, como seres racionales que somos, deben incluir esta preservación del patrimonio histórico, cultural y natural que a nosotros mismos nos dejaron anteriores generaciones, gracias a la preservación, se puede proteger los acervos del deterioro que sufren día a día, y tal vez este sea uno de los trabajos más importantes de este concepto, Existen factores que, si no se tiene cuidado, terminarían con el material bibliográfico del cual se dispone actualmente. Entre los factores que más causan el deterioro son: La temperatura, la humedad, la luz (natural y artificial), la contaminación y los agentes biológicos, agentes químicos, y más factores que contribuyen al deterioro, para esto se dice que otro factor natural que lo afecta directamente es el polvo que inevitablemente tiende a acumularse sobre los libros, conteniendo agentes que aceleran la destrucción, como son las esporas de los hongos, microorganismos, partículas metálicas, grasas, etc. Al penetrar entre las hojas, producirá abrasión en forma de manchas y a largo plazo su destrucción. La preservación y conservación significa el mantenimiento de algo en buenas condiciones físicas, a fin de que pueda cumplir la función para lo que fue creado. Dicha conservación se consigue evitando el deterioro o destrucción de ese objeto o reparándolo si ha sufrido daños que lo impidan o pongan en riesgo el cumplimiento de dicha función. Por eso el objetivo de este trabajo es recomendar medidas de control y manejo para la prevención adecuada del deterioro de acervos bibliográficos y todos los documentos que los conforman, identificando los agentes de deterioro, difundiendo los procedimientos de preservación entre los usuarios y trabajadores.
