The present is a meditation on the artwork and the essence of truth from Martin Heidegger's thought. With the origin of the work of art, the German author incorporates the problem of art to his philosophy on metaphysics, on the truth and on the focus of his fundamental ontology. Thus heideggerian thesis develops in the manner of an ontological turn in the art way of thinking, which implies a review and a critique of the aestheticization of art in the Modern Era. A review is made to Kantian criticism as one of the core factors that determined the incorporation of art in the field of aesthetics and develops the Heideggerian proposal on art as an event of truth as a way to better explain the enigma of art and its origin, and as a way to rethink the very concept of truth. Finally, questions arise that test the Heideggerian thesis and propose new ways of thinking to think about what is today the problem of art and its relationship with technology and consumption.
