In Mexico we have a delay in terms of regulations on the prevention and eradication of violence against women and the applicability of the existing one. This is largely due to the lack of normative harmonization of our country with international law, represented in this specific case, by the Inter-American Convention to Prevent, Punish and Eradicate Violence against Women "De Belém Do Pará" where the obligation of the Mexican State is clearly established, which it acquired as an international subject against other subjects of the same nature, to harmonize its internal regulations with the Convention in order to guarantee the material access of women to their right to a free life of violence. This normative discrepancy also implies that the country incurs international responsibility for violating international obligations contained in the aforementioned International Treaty.
