Since ancient times, humanity has felt the moral need to worship a supreme being and offer before him a sacrifice of faith. The idea then arises of creating suitable spaces for carrying out these activities, a place that has sufficient hierarchy to be destined for the deities. The places designed to worship have had an important development, both in terms of formal, conceptual, functional, and spatial aspects, evolving through the centuries, resulting in different typologies in ideological and stylistic fields.
Desde la antigüedad, la humanidad ha sentido la necesidad moral de rendir culto a un ser supremo y ofrecer ante éste un sacrificio de fe. Surge entonces la idea de crear espacios adecuados para la realización de estas actividades, un lugar que cuente con la suficiente jerarquía como para ser destinado a las deidades. Los lugares diseñados para rendir culto han tenido un desarrollo importante, tanto en cuestión formal, conceptual, funcional, como en lo espacial, evolucionando a través de los siglos dando como resultado diferentes tipologías en ámbitos ideológicos y estilísticos.
