Abstract

The phenomenon of industrialization in modern society has given the time of leisure a compensatory conception. This appreciation of free time in quantitative terms does not translate into qualitative use because what matters is not leisure but non -work. An empty space is usually considered free time that contributes little to the humanization of the individual. Hence, in recent times the entertainment industry has emerged in order to give meaning and quality to free time.

El fenómeno de la industrialización en la sociedad Moderna le ha dado al tiempo de ocio una concepción compensadora. Esta apreciación del tiempo libre en términos cuantitativos no se traduce en aprovechamiento cualitativo pues lo que importa no es el ocio sino el no trabajo. Se suele considerar al tiempo libre un espacio vacío que poco contribuye a la humanización del individuo. De allí que en los últimos tiempos haya surgido la industria de la entretención con la finalidad de otorgarle sentido y calidad al tiempo libre.
